Environmental Banking

We bank with the award winning GLS Bank which was the first social-ecological bank in Germany, founded in 1974. In banking with them, our money supports projects like organic farms, institutions for natural health, nursing homes, projects for the unemployed, health food stores, communal housing projects, sustainable businesses, as well as independent schools and kindergardens. https://www.gls.de/english-portrait/

Open Source Technology

We are constantly looking for and trying new open source technologies for all aspects of our work. We look for advice in places like The Tactical Technology Collective, The Mozilla Foundation, and EthicalNet.

Our website is built on the Open Source platform WordPress

Our website is hosted by Greenhost, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

As an environmentally-conscious company, Greenhost aims to make a difference by striving towards maximal sustainability in every step of their production process. This starts with hosting: their servers are hosted at the climate neutral Evoswitch data centre and their cluster runs on Dutch wind energy. By careful hardware selection they reduce consumption, by centralizing storage, they can make very efficient use of the hardware, and through virtualisation they can continually adjust their systems to match demand.

They also play an active role in several projects regarding digital security and human rights, by sharing knowledge, supporting partnerships and developing open source applications in-house.
